Proverbs 31:20 Ministries was founded in June 2000 by two women
who wanted to serve according
to our namesake scripture:
“She extends her hand to the
poor, she opens her arms to
those in need.”
We began by supplying the immediate needs of homeless
women and families in King
and Snohomish counties. In
summer of 2005, similar ministry
work started in Mississippi
through the service of local
volunteers, and we are now
in the process of formally opening for business
in Jacksonville.
But changing
lives requires more than providing
basic necessities. And solutions
for individuals do not come
in one-size-fits-all programs.
Proverbs 31:20 Ministries serves
women and children with a personal
touch - by forming relationships
that give Biblical encouragement, and by training women in important
life skills such as budgeting,
parenting, and managing a household.
Our Partners
We
are grateful for the generous
in-kind donations of Pottery Barn. Their linens,
towels, and other household
goods help us to prepare shelter
rooms with excellence for new
residents. The items also go
out to women who are moving
on to transitional housing,
or who have lost such items
in a crisis.
Furthermore, we could not minister as we do without the wonderful
support of many individuals,
families, and church partners,
especially Canyon Hills Community Church and Antioch Bible Church , who faithfully give
their prayers, time, and money to
help our efforts. |
