Hygiene Kit Provision: Personal hygiene
kits are assembled and delivered
to several area shelters every
month. Other families in need
can contact the ministry to receive
kits as well. These basic essentials
are a core part of our outreach
to women and children because
they are so important to health
and wellness, but many cannot
afford to purchase these necessities.
Other Living Expenses: Another
key element of our ministry is
assisting families with food,
gasoline, or other necessary
living expenses when they find
that their resources do not cover
the full costs each month. Grocery
provision is usually supplied
in the form of gift cards from
local stores. We also offer gasoline
gift cards for travel to and
from work, school, or job interviews.
And we will give prepaid phone
cards for the purpose of job
hunting or emergency use.
Provision for rent or other living expenses is offered on a case-by-case
basis after thorough review.
Assistance with utilities (such
as power) includes referrals
to local agencies, and supplemental
funding where necessary.
Hat & Mitten Drives: In the cooler months,
our ministry has often been generously
blessed by the efforts of local
families, elementary school classes,
and Girl Scout Troops. Last winter
alone, over 500 hat and mitten sets were donated for the children
we serve.
